Taking on the responsibility of raising orphaned kangaroos was so all time-consuming I couldn’t paint for almost a year. But during that time, getting to know these precious little souls I began wondering if more people might want to protect them if they knew them too.
What if there was a way to introduce children at a young age to the specialness of Kangaroos?
Might they grow up wanting to care for them too?
With these questions rattling around in my head, a Maxie Roo series of books began to take shape and Red Rabbit Books publishing was soon born.
